Labor Day is just around the corner, and most importantly a better way to spend this holiday in the open air to take a walk in the park with the whole family. There been some research done, or 10,000 steps per day or at least 30min of walking per day for at least 3 times a week to offer considerable advantages such as endurance Cardiovascular improved, improved blood cholesterol, lowered blood pressure, increased metabolic rate, etc.
Even if the Walking is considered a form of weight-bearing exercise, research has shown that walking program for up to one year have generally not been very effective in preventing bone loss, especially for healthy individuals. The main reason is that walking does indeed a very large force loading on the bones, nor does it represent a single load stimulus. However, this does not exclude the possibility that the march usual long-term for many years helps to preserve bone mass loss.
While running and jogging are large bearing exercise and weight efficient for burning calories, but for the person unfit to start, they are often considered too much energy demanding. Exercises that the intensity is high induce the body to burn more carbohydrates. It is more advisable for them to start with the way mild to moderate slowly increasing gradually to the high intensity walk. This is to enable the adaptation of the body.
This is especially true for beginners who are new to exercise or who have never engaged in any high-intensity exercise before. Many obese and sedentary people tend to have lower levels of fitness. This is mainly due to a lack of exercise over time which caused muscle and energy system to lose efficiency. For this reason, many exercises are just too intense when initiating a program of weight loss exercise.
Moderate walking at an average speed of 4km/hr 5 km / h is considered as aerobic in nature and helps to burn calories all the way, which also helps to maintain or lose weight. Another way to look at the intensity walking is to use the heart rate. Moderate, is where you are walking at 45% - 55% of the frequency maximum heart rate and is experiencing a slight difficulty in breathing than usual but is still able to hold an entire conversation. High intensity is where you walk at 65% - 75% of maximum heart rate and you are only able to speak in short sentences. The intensity walking is actually better done with a heart rate monitor to maintain the body to burn fat best.
All these time, we discussed the benefits of exercise walking, but does not really touch on walking techniques. Many people might be concerned that the reason which the motion must still be taught, when in reality, many people were actually walking in the wrong direction throughout this time.
Even before we begin our exercise walking, good warm-up and stretching techniques should be included. This should allow for the building trades and prepare for exercise walking. Subsequently, after completing the walking exercise, cooling exercises is also a must for ensuring a comprehensive exercise program.
When we talk to walk properly, we actually speak to correct anatomical posture alignment. Here, we apply our principles in Taichi alignment of the march. Firstly, the feet should be moving outward parallel rather than pronation or inward. This is the area where many people found it difficult to correct, which is mainly due to the lack of amplitude motion (ROM) in our hip joint, where we could increase our flexibility and ROM, stretching during warm-up session.
The agency should also maintain standing with the neutral spine and shoulders relaxed. The head, shoulder, hip, knees and ankles should form a straight line, where it is also part of the requirement in practice Taichi. By integrating these principles in the course Taichi exercises it allows us to align and correct our bad posture. It will take some time for the body to adapt and habitualise, which depends on the person.
When the body has adapted and habitualised correct alignment Taichi walking posture, it can then be applied to even our daily walk and maintained to old age. The same principles also apply when it comes to running and jogging, where we will not discuss in details.
In conclusion, there is no doubt about the many benefits of walking exercises walking with the intensity and frequency correct. To make the whole exercise walking even more effective and beneficial, can be applied as Taichi walking.
